Being Bookish

Raise your hand if you love reading and REAL books!  There are no doubt advantages to the digital revolution, but there’s also nothing quite like curling up in a comfy chair or hammock with a book in your hands, and getting lost in another world for a pleasant hour or so.

Here at Swampum, we’re focused on creating a platform that allows people to share things with friends, neighbors, anyone — sometimes for free, sometimes for Swampum points, sometimes for cash.

Books are a great place to start.  Reading pre-owned books, and then passing them on to someone else, is a great way for a book lover to save money.  It’s also a great way to support the communities you care about, by allowing them to receive or borrow your used books so they don’t have to buy new.  And it’s a big boost to the environment, reducing the amount of energy and resources that go into producing new books.  Best of all, think about how much better you feel when you clear out unwanted things — passing along those unneeded books can improve both your living space and your life!

I am gradually adding to Swampum the hundreds of books I no longer need.  Here’s a list of all the books currently available on Swampum.  Please, take some!

And you can return the favor by posting your unwanted books here for others to enjoy.  You’ll feel great if you do.
